  • William March 7, 2014 at 6:42 pm

If i buy the Budapest card, where on the airport is the delivery point?

    • Budapest Cards March 17, 2014 at 10:05 am

      Hello William,
if you ordered your card online in advance with the 5% discount, you can pick up the Budapest Card at the terminals of Budapest Airport: terminal 2A or terminal 2B both have a tourist office (well signed for Budapest Tourist Info).

Opening hours of the tourist office on Budapest Airport:
Terminal 2A, daily from 8 am to 11 pm
Terminal 2B, daily from 10 am to 10 pm

If you arrive later than 11 pm we do not recommend buying the Budapest card with an airport pickup, as no tourist office is open. Instead you can get your card in the city center tourist offices. But perhaps for late night arrival the best is to order the card to your hotel (the card delivery is free of charge for online reservations).

  • Anne August 9, 2014 at 3:02 pm

After my 72 hour card has expired but before May of 2015, can I still get the discount at a restaurant or entrance to a museum? I understand the travel portion is only valid for 72 hours, are the other benefits only available for 72 hours also?

    • Budapest Cards August 12, 2014 at 9:02 am

Hello Anne, we are sorry but discounts outside the 72 hours period cannot be used. The card is valid for 72 hours and not longer. It is not only the travel portion that is valid for 72 hours but all the rest of the benefits (museum entries, restaurant discount vouchers, etc.)

  • Tonia December 11, 2014 at 1:19 pm

Hello.I am a student (20years old) and as you know I have already discounts in numerous entrance fees. If I purchase the Budapest Card , I will have the discounts that it offers in the already reduced price or in the regular price?
For example,to enter in a museum I have to pay 900 HUF because I am under the age of 26 ,whereas those who are over 26 pay 1800HUF .The Budapest Card offers a discount 25% in the already reduced price or in the original price?

Please let me know as soon as you can.
    Thank you in advance,

    • Budapest Cards December 11, 2014 at 3:38 pm

      Dear Tonia,
the discount reduces the original price, which usually results the same amount as the student price in itself. Unfortunately there is no further discount from the student price. Thank you for your understanding.

I’m looking to purchase the above card and was wondering where the free walking tour goes

    • Budapest Cards February 4, 2016 at 9:31 am

      Hi Sandra,
one walking tour is on the Pest side, in the city centre starting from 31 Vaci Street, the shopping street of Budapest visiting the nearby attractions like the St Stephen’s Basilica, the Danube Promenade and more. The other walking tour, meeting point in front of the Matthias Church on Szentharomsag Square, included in Budapest Card is one is on the Buda side, covering the Buda Castle area, the Fisherman’s Bastion, the Matthias Church and the many courts and squares up the Buda Castle Hill (tickets inside the Buda Castle are included but there is no guided tour inside the attractions as it is an open air walking tour).
Both tours are 2 hours, comprehensive and a great way to take a closer look at lots of beautiful sights and enjoy them personally.

  • Hector November 13, 2016 at 11:17 am

Bonjour, Nous allons à Budapest dans quelques semaines. Nous avons plus de 65 ans. Est ce intéressant de prendre la carte pour les musées et autres monuments ? ou bien existe-t-il une autre carte pour les visites ? Je vous remercie.

    • Budapest Cards November 13, 2016 at 3:09 pm

      Bonjour Hector,

  • Aleks July 29, 2017 at 11:11 pm

I am trying to order Budapest cards to pick up at the airport. My arrival date will be in September of 2017, so the form is rejecting my airport pickup.
Does this mean that there will no longer be a kiosk at the airport to pick up and activate my travel card? How am I supposed to get to the city center without my card? No, I don’t want the card delivered to where I am staying if I can’t use it to get there from the airport, 😀
The cost of getting from the airport to the city center without a travel card is so high that it makes buying the card pointless.
    Please advise.
    Best, Alex

      Dear Aleks,
      thank you for contacting us.

I will be visiting Budapest in October and was wondering whether the free delivery process is safe because I expect to check-in my hotel at around 10 pm (on the 1st October 2017). However, I will only start using the card on the following day (2nd October 2017), early morning. I wonder if the card can be delivered on the 1st of October to the hotel lobby (Gozsdu Court Aparthotel) so that when we check-in the hotel we are able to collect from the receptionist.

Besides that, I would like to ask whether the 10% discounts for airport shuttle is covered for 100E bus? Can I purchase the ticket in advance during my Budapest valid period?

    Thank you.

    Many thanks for your answer.

  • Cynthia April 18, 2018 at 1:58 pm

The Budapest card was not worth it for 72 hrs. We went to 2 museums and the opera which was under construction and didn’t even get to see the performance hall. We wanted to see the applied arts museum , the fine arts museum and ethnological museum and did a wild goose chase and were all closed for renovations that took 1 day out of the 72 hrs.
Sisi’ discount-The museum did not honor and a 72 hr subway pass is 4150. we bought 10 tickets for 3000.

I bought 2 tickets. We wasted our time. we were wherever..they said to be and there was no free guide we were way early and NO ONE SHOWED UP1

WE made a mistake listening to you SLICK talking salesman at the airport. I want my money back less the 4150 for 2 people and the museum entrances to 2 museums.

I didn’t know any of the museums when I got off the plane. YOUR slick salesman said I make it all up on the TRANSPORTATION ALONE111 what a lie. Please refund my money as I asked for 2 people.

      Hello Cynthia,

thank you for your valuable feedback.

We are very sorry about your negative experiences.

Please note that we are only selling online purchased Budapest Cards and these cards cannot be received at the Airport. We deliver the online bought Budapest Cards via a special delivery service to a Budapest address, free of charge.

I hope your stay in Hungary and Budapest was enjoyable.

Please send these conversations to my email and the email of the Budapest card. It just proves you are scammers that you don’t try to help please e mail me what I asked you to do

Hi, my friend and I are arriving at the main station at 8:30am on a Monday. Is there a way to collect from the station?

If so, how do I book this option online.

Additionally can we book onto the buda walking tour, if so how do we do this?

    Kind regards,

    • Budapest Cards June 4, 2018 at 8:25 am

      Dear Amber,
the online purchased Budapest Cards can only be delivered to your accommodation. They unfortunately cannot be picked up anywhere else.
The Buda Walking Tour is free for Budapest card holders, there is no need to book in advance, you can just show up at the meeting point. Please have your Budapest card with you to show it to the tour guide.

I will arrive at Budapest at 5:00 a.m. on the 30th of November. I want to purchase a 72h card to use on the 30th of November and on the 1st and 2nd of December. Is it possible to have the card delivered in my hostel on the 29th of Novembre, so that I can use it in the morning on the 30th of Novembre?

    Thank you in advance

  • Margarida Borges November 26, 2018 at 2:37 pm

I have one more question. When do the 72h start? When the card is delivered or when I first use it?

    • Budapest Cards November 27, 2018 at 8:34 am

      Dear Margarida,
yes, the Budapest Card can be delivered to your hostel (if they have a reception) before you arrive. The 72 hours start from the first use.

      • Margarida Borges November 27, 2018 at 9:17 am

Thank you for your response. Does the hostel need to be open 24h/day. At what time is the card usually delivered?

        • Budapest Cards November 28, 2018 at 8:41 am

          Dear Margarida,
no, it’s not necessary. As long as we have a phone number to the accommodation, we can arrange the delivery with them.

    Hi there

We are coming to Budapest as a family of 6 (2 adults and 4 children) – do I need to order 6 cards?

Also, we are staying in an apartment, not a hotel. How can we take delivery of the card?

    Thank you, Becky.

    • Budapest Cards January 17, 2019 at 6:19 pm

      Hello Becky,

thank you for contacting us. For families visiting Budapest, there is an option to purchase Junior Cards for children and young students under 18 years of age. If the kids are younger than 6 years old, you do not need to buy a card (although at some attractions having a junior card gives them entitlement to discounts or free entries, depending on the policy of the given attraction).

Junior Budapest Cards are valid for young persons aged between 6 and 18.

They are valid for 72 hours starting from the time of first use (there is no currently shorter or longer junior card option, the only type is 72h).
You can find more info on the topic is on:

Private apartments can be used as delivery places, but in this case we will need a contact phone number.

Have a great time in Budapest.

Is Bus 100E to airport as part of Budapest Card transport or any other Bus to airport included in Card travel.
Alternatively does the bus accepts card payment for transfer to airport and I have no local currency and only pound sterling

    • Budapest Cards February 4, 2019 at 8:26 am

      Dear Bikash,
no, Bus no 100E is not included in the Budapest Card benefits, it requires its own ticket.
Alternatively you can use bus 200E, which is included (free with Budapest Card). Please note that tickets usually cannot be purchased from the bus driver, you need to buy the tickets in advance at ticket machines (card payment is accepted).

  • Janice Holms March 18, 2019 at 5:32 pm

We are arriving in Budapest the afternoon of March 31, 2019 and would like to use a 48-hour card starting either that day or April 1. We tried entering March 29 as the day for delivery to our hotel, and got the note that the card will expire on March 31. Is there any way to avoid this?
    Thank you, Janice Holms

    • Budapest Cards March 19, 2019 at 8:19 am

      Dear Janice,
no problem, in this case please choose your check-in time as Apr 1 (as this is the date you would like to start using your Budapest Card). Please add a note in the booking form about your actual arrival date, to make sure that card will be delivered before you arrive.

  • Victor April 2, 2019 at 4:53 pm

Can I order card to my friend’s adress in Budapest instead of hotel? Or can I pick it somewhere in the city? If yes then what should I fill in corresponding fields?

    • Budapest Cards April 3, 2019 at 7:45 am

      Dear Victor,
if you do not wish to have the Budapest Card to be delivered to your accommodation, you can buy it personally in Budapest, probably this is the easiest solution for you.
