Hi. I am coming with a friend at 31st of March till 7th of April. Which card suits us better for all our stay?
Also we will stay at an airbnb appartment, so how can we receive the cards at the appartment and do we need to book the cardsin each our names or can we book both of them in one ?
Thanks
Dear Michael,
I would recommend you to choose a Budapest Card which is valid from Apr 1. The longest card available is the 120h one, this would cover 5 days of your stay.
If you wish to have the Budapest Card delivered to a private apartment, please add your mobile phone number in the booking form, so that we can contact you about the delivery time. It is not necessary to book it to a certain name, you can book all cards at once.
Hi I shall be arriving in Budapest in April at 21:30. Would it still be possible to buy the Card from the airport at that time and what is the difference in price between ordering it online and buying it in person?
Thanks and regards.
Hello Chiara,

You can buy the cards there until 10pm, but taking into consideration that your plane might be late, I would suggest the online purchase, therefore your cards would be waiting for your when you check in.

The walking tours in Buda and Pest are guaranteed to start every day, therefore there is no need to book your places in advance.
They usually last 2–2.5 hours long and they come with an English speaking tour guide. The tours run on national holidays and in rainy / snowy weather too. Just take the card with you when you turn up for a walking tour.
Meeting time and location of Buda Walking tour: 2 pm at the Holy Trinity Statue near the Matthias Church in the Buda Castle District, Holy Trinity Square, 1014 Budapest
Meeting time and location of Pest Walking tour: 10 am at Molnar’s Kurtoskalacs: 31 Vaci street, 1052 Budapest
There is no need to make an advance booking for the free walking tours. You can just show up at the meeting point and join the tours.
Have a great time in Budapest.
Hi,
can i use the budapest card for Matthias Church ,house of Parliament & National Opera house ?
BR
Loon
Hi Loon,
Unfortunately the Budapest Card does not offer discount to the Parliament or the Matthias Church, but provides a 20% discount on the price of the guided tours in the Hungarian State Opera House (not the opera shows).
More info about the benefits of the Budapest Card: http://budapestcards.com/budapest-card-benefits
Can I use this card for the train going to Szentendre as well?
Dear Cindy,
the Budapest card is valid only within the boundaries of Budapest. If you wish to go to Szentendre, you will need to buy an additional ticket.
Hi
Airport transfers are including in Budapest card ?
Gaby
Hello Gaby,
Budapest Cards offer the Free use of the Budapest public transport vehicles for 1 Adult and 1 Child under 6: Metros, Streetcars, Buses, Trolley Buses, Millennium Underground, Cogwheel Railway, Public Boats and HEV suburban railway (within the administrative boundary of Budapest). Excluding: Buda Castle Funicular (aka Siklo), Buda Hill Chairlift (aka Libego). Exception: Bus 100E is not included.
I hope I could be of help.
Hello, could you please tell me if with Budapest Card we can have a free visit at the 3d Gallery?
Hello Elena,
thank you for your email.
The Budapest Card does not include any discount to 3rd Gallery. Thank you for your understanding,
Hello!
It’s not quite obvious from the description, but is only one entry to the Lukacs Baths included or I may visit it twice with 72h card?
Hello Anastasiia,
thank you for your email.
The 100% discount Lukacs bath entry will give you one access to all the 7 hot spring and swimming Pools and the Sauna. Bath Party tickets are not free for Saturday night Magic Bath parties.
I hope I could be of help.
Is there a price difference buying on line or purchasing when we get there. Can I get the card at the train station as that is where I am arriving to? How much is it for 2 days for 2 adults if I buy when I get there. Thanks
Dear Jan,
The Budapest Card has the same price online as in the ticket offices. Yes, it can be purchased at most of the public transport ticket offices.
Hello Budapest Cards,
I am planning to go to Budapest in May this year. I’d like to find out if the free public transportation card access includes buses and trains to and in-between areas of Vác , Esztergom , Szentendre, Visegrád, Acquincum from Budapest?
I apologize if this question is silly.
Dear Peter,
the public transportation is free within the boundaries of Budapest only. Unfortunately you cannot travel free to other cities. Thank you for your understanding.
Hello,
Noted. Thank you.
Hello,
I would like to know if the Budapest Card 120h provides free public transport for 120h as well? In all comments there were only 24h/48h/72h mentioned.
Is it possible to use for direct bus from the airport (express/direct line 100E)?
Price for both types (pre-paid and cash paid at the airport) is the same?
Thanks for the answers.
Hello Martin,
yes, of course, sorry that this information was somewhat hidden: indeed, the 120 hour Budapest Card provides free public transportation for the whole duration of your Budapest card within the city boundaries (not outside of Budapest, so for instance if you visit nearby towns like Godollo or Szentendre, the Budapest Card only gives a partial discount from the complete fee, up to the city boundaries).
While the Budapest Card includes free public transportation, like bus 200E, the recently launched new ‘Shuttle Service’ (the 100E bus) is not considered to be part of the public transport as it is a specifically designed budget airport transfer shuttle (somewhat confusingly, offered by the Budapest Public Transport Company, but not defined as a public transport device).
If you want to get a completely free transfer with your Budapest Card from the airport to the city centre or elsewhere, the most simple and relatively hassle free option if your accommodation is near a metro station, is to
1, walk out of the airport building
2, turn left and walk past the taxi rank
3, walk ahead, skip the 100E bus (which costs approx. 3 Euros)
4, wait for the 200E bus, get on with your Budapest Card
5, get off at Kobanya Kispest metro station
6, walk to the metro (M3) and get on your metro car (there are lifts at this station to facilitate those is need and also luggage rolling)
The price of the Budapest Card (online and on the spot) is the same.
And the Chairlift is included in the benefits, even though the Funicular in the Buda Castle is not.
http://budacastlebudapest.com/funicular-buda-castle-district/
I’ve found a bit different information “To get to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, take the M3 metro and change at Kőbánya-Kispest terminus for bus No. 200E to reach Terminal 2. The Budapest Card is not valid on bus No.100E, the Chairlift or Buda Castle Funicular.”; source: budapestinfo.hu
We are arriving on saturday afternoon and the direct connection 200E to Kőbánya-Kispest M3 will be probably closed.
Dear Martin,
you are absolutely right, I apologise for not reading your comment attentively enough. Indeed, the bus 100E requires a special ticket, which can be purchased at the regular ticket machines or from the driver himself. The Budapest Card is not valid on this route unfortunately. Thank you for your understanding.
Hi! We are visiting Budapest from April 1-4, 2018. I saw that the price and the available (free) attractions may change at the end of March. When will you publish the new price/programs for 2018? Also, is it not possible to collect this card at the airport anymore even if I purchase it on-line? Thank you in advance.
Hello Midori,
thank you for your comment.
The new prices for 2018 will be published by the end of March, at the latest.
I am afraid, airport pickup for the online purhcased Budapest Cards is not available anymore, but your cards can be delivered to your Budapest address at no cost.
I hope I could be of help.
Hello,
We are going to visit Budapest in two months. I would like to know if this card allows us to use the night buses (Line numbering: 900–999). Thank you in advance for your help.
Hello Eleni,
yes, you can also use the night buses free of charge with Budapest Card.
I’m staying in budapest for 5 days and will buy the 72 hrs card and want to use the card discount on hop on hop off bus (big bus) for 48 hours.
Can I buy the big bus tickets just before the end ot the 72 hrs and start using the big bus after the budapest card expires?
Dear John,
I am afraid that you cannot use the discounts after the Budapest Card expired. Thank you for your understanding.
Hello, what is the maximum number of the people in the group for these free walking tours? Do I need to book the tour in advance or simply to show up at the starting point?
Thanks.
Dear Natasa,
there is no need to book the free tours, you can simply show up at the meeting point and show you Budapest Card to the tour guide.
Hello, how can I book the walking tour that is included in Budapest card?
Thank you
1. If my 24hr card starts at 1pm on 14 Dec, can I still gain free entry to the museums listed after 1pm on 15 Dec?
2. How do I purchase the 72hr Junior card online?
3. Is there a price difference if I purchase the cards online and at the airport?
4. Can I still collect the cards at the airport if purchased online?
Hello Shareen,
thank you for contacting us.
1. Your Card valid for the duration of 24 hours. You specify the starting hour, which can be from 3 am to next day’s 3 am, or from 16:00 pm to next day’s 16:00 pm (e.g. from December 18, 21:00 pm to December 19, 21:00 pm). Once you write the starting hour on the 24 hour Budapest Card, it cannot be changed or corrected.
2. I am afraid, you cannot buy Junior cards online.
3. There is not, but if you purchase your card online, it will be delivered to your accommodation free of charge.
4. Online purchased cards cannot be collected at the airports anymore.
Should you buy your card online and in advance, they will have already been delivered to your Budapest address by the time you will arrive.
Have a lovely time in Budapest city!

Have a great time in Budapest.
Hi!
I just purchased a 72h card alongside a 72h Junior card, and after paying, the message that came up was
“Successful purchase, thank you for choosing us!
Please, do not forget to print your voucher!”
Where would the voucher be sent to? In my email there is only an invoice, or would that be considered the voucher?
Thanks for your help
Hello Pai,
thank you for contacting us.
I am afraid, I couldn’t find any valid booking in our booking system under your name or email address. Please contact the vendor you purchased your Budapest Card from, as the voucher will be exchanged to the actual Card. Please check your email for an email address or phone number if you bought a Budapest Card from a third party.
I hope this helps. Have a great time in Budapest, Hungary!

Hi
We would be arriving at the Népliget Bus station (from Vienna) around 10 am on June 3 (Sat) for a day trip. Can we buy the card online and pickup from a counter nearby? If so, where is the nearest counter ? When will the city walking trip start and from what point?
Many Thanks, Sid

Hi!
I read that with the Budapest card, I can get discounts to certain tours….how can I get the discount when I check out as they only show the full price without an option of a Budacard holder discount on the Budapest by locals website.
Thank you,
Hello Kimberley,
No previous registration is needed for the free walking tours as these start every day at the announced time in every circumstances, one tour on the Buda side and the other tour on the Pest side. Usually hikes are 2–2.5 hours long with an English speaking tour guide. The tours run on national holidays and in rainy / snowy weather too. Just take the card with you when you turn up for a walking tour.

I can’t seem to find an option to purchase the 120h option. I’ll be visiting Budapest for 5 days so this would be perfect..
Hello Nina,
thank you for your comment.
The 120h option becomes visible when you start completing the booking form, that is you first have to choose between the 2 card collection points.
Then simply choose the 120h option on, for example, the following link:
http://budapestcards.com/budapest-card-with-free-hotel-delivery
I hope I could be of help.
Hi I’m coming to Budapest in June for 4 nights. Is this card the same as the “get your guide” card? Just want to go to museums, visit a spa, travel around and hopefully book a trip to the thermal caves in Miskolc. Any advice will be gratefully received on how to visit the sights on a budget.
Many thanks joanne

Hello,
I would like to know, if I order two cards today, and arriving in Budapest tomorrow, will the card be waiting for me in hostel? How long it takes to deliver it?
Hello Malwina,
don’t worry, if you purchase it today, it can be delivered to your hotel tomorrow morning.
Hi, I wonder what is the difference between buying the budapest card here online and at the Hotel because they said me it’s the same everywhere.
Thanks
giada
Hello Giada,
thank you for your inquiry. Most of the hotels don’t sell the Budapest Card, but if you purchase it online, you can request the delivery to any address in Budapest.
Good morning!
I understand that the Budapest card is valid during the specific period of time.
Is it the same with 2 walking tours which have to be used in 24, 48, 72 hrs depending on the card? Due to the time constraints I will have a short trip to Budapest this week (2 days ) and am going to buy 24 hours card. According to weather forecast this Friday is expected to be rainy… Could I use the card next day after expiry?
Thank you.
Dear Anton,
Unfortunately it is not possible to split the card duration. Once you have started using it, it will expire within 24, 48 or 72 hours.
Good afternoon!
The discounted prices to the Budapest sights (in addition to the free entries) are also available during 24, 48, 72 hrs period, aren’t they?
Or can I get the discounted price after the card expires?
Thank you.
Dear Anton,
after the Budapest Card expires, unfortunately you cannot use it any more to get the discounts.
I want to use this card from airport to the city center. Is airport transfer included in Budapest Card?
Dear Lily,
if you choose to pick up your Budapest Card at the airport, you can start using it immediately, so the public transport from the airport to the city center will be free for you.
Hi,how can i book thoes 2 Free Budapest Walking Tours?
Hi Shenjie,
there is no need to make an advance booking for the free walking tours. You can just show up at the meeting point and join the tours.
Buda Tour meeting info: 2 pm in the Castle District, in front of Matthias Church at the Holy Trinity Column, Holy Trinity Square, 1014 Budapest
Pest Tour: 10 am at Molnar’s Kurtoskalacs: 31 Vaci street, 1052 Budapest
Hello, I saw there is a 5% discount if purchased online and we can collect the card at the airport.
1. What are the hours for collection at the Airport on a Sunday. Flight gets in at 11:45.
2. Also what do we need to provide to collect the card?
3. I saw on the main page http://budapestcards.com/ the 24 hr card has a public airport transfer. Is that just one way or both ways to airport? How does it work, is it bus, or train?
One more question, where do we go in the airport to collect the card?
Hello Michelle,
If you ordered your card online in advance you can pick up the Budapest Card at the terminals of Budapest Airport with your printed confirmation email: terminal 2A or terminal 2B both have a tourist office (well signed for Budapest Tourist Info).
Opening hours of the tourist office on Budapest Airport:
Terminal 2A, daily from 8 am to 11 pm
Terminal 2B, daily from 10 am to 10 pm
If you arrive later than 11 pm we do not recommend buying the Budapest card with an airport pickup, as no tourist office is open. Instead you can get your card in the city center tourist offices. But perhaps for late night arrival the best is to order the card to your hotel (the card delivery is free of charge for online reservations).
Public transportation is free of charge in whole Budapest during the validity of your Budapest Card (starting from the first use of the Card).
I am coming to Budapest on Tuesday 8th November arrive in afternoon at the airport, if I buy now online where do you suggest I get it delivered to. Obviously I would like to use as soon as we land
Thanks
Dear Malcolm,
you can pick up your card at the Airport as well.
Hi, I’m coming in Budapest this week. I would like to take the 48 hours Budapest card but I’ve read that there are two free museum (total free museum 12). What does it mean? That I can enter free only in two of twelve museums listed above??
Dear Marco,
Budapest Card provides you free entry to several museums. You can see the full list on the top of this page. You can enter all of them free of charge (only one entry per museum is free).
Hello, how much we pay Budapest Card for children 13 years old?
Hello Stanislava,
unfortunately there is no special children price, so you can buy the Budapest Card on the following prices:
24h: €17 per person
48h: €27 per person
72h: €33 per person
Hi, me and my bf plan to get Budapest card 24hrs in December 2016. There are a few questions that I need to know

hi,

Dear Mary,
you can have 1 free entry to Lukacs Bath with Budapest Card.
can i use three times Lukas baths if i buy 72h card ?
Hello Mary,
no, the free entry to Lukacs Baths means only one entry per Budapest Card. Thank you for your understanding.
We get Budapest-Keleti at 21:19. I want to know where we can get the card and opening hours.
Dear Min,
the price includes free hotel delivery.
Please excuse my stupid question, but I would like to know what is the difference between Budapest Card at budapestcards.com and another one with the same name at budapest-card.com. I am a little bit confused, because both sites propose the card as official one. I would be grateful if you clarify that point.
Thank you in advance!
Dear Emil,
thank you for your inquiry. I would like to confirm that both sites offer the same, official Budapest Cards.
Hi! I’m visiting Budapest next week, with my husband and my 20 months old son. I’ve already bought 2 cards for me and my husband, but I was wondering if I need another card for my kid, giving the fact he’s still an infant.
Hi Maria,
As the public transport is free for children under 6, and most of the museums offer very cheap prices for kids, it might not be a very good deal to purchase a card for the little one.
Do NOT bother with this card. Especially if you are travelling as a family and must buy multiples. Its really just an over-priced transit card. I hate to say it because I love to support local tourism programs but this card is not a good value at all, in fact its very disappointing. We were advised to get the card from a couple expats who had heard that it covered a number of excursions and attractions. I did my research online and knew what discounts and freebies came with the card. To date, we’ve only been able to benefit from the transit side and a get a 10% discount at Gellert baths. Everywhere else we’ve gone or called – The Children’s Railroad, the lift, some museums, the escape room, the scenic dinner cruise – all refuse the card. You are better off to just buy the regular transit card which is half the price then be frustrated and feel taken for a ride. Budapest is a beautiful city with lovely, friendly people and so much to see and do, and can be done for a reasonable price without the extra expense of a useless city card.
Can the Budapest card be used in conjunction with student discounts?
Dear Nicola,
unfortunately the Budapest Card provides discount from the original prices, not from the student prices.
When will the 2016 Budapest Cards be available?
Hi, planning on visiting Budapest in the summer. Just wondering with the Budapest card do you get discounts only on adult admissions or on student admission as well? Thank you
Hello May,
the Budapest Card provides discounts from the original prices, as in several prices students already get lower prices. Thank you for your understanding.
Hi, Im visiting budapest in January, I am wondering if this is the list with ALL discounts of the card? If not, where can I find a list with all discounts and free places? Thank you
Hi Kim,
yes, you can find all the benefits of the Budapest Card on this website.
Hi I am coming to Budapest next December for a week with my family.
Is there a card that covers the whole week or some type of group ticket.
Thanks
Hello Maria,
if you choose the Family option in the booking form, you can buy a Junior Card along with an Adult Card. The Junior Card is for children of 6-18 years old for 72 hours starting from the time of first use. A valid student ID is needed to be able to book this option.
The longest validity of Budapest Cards is 96h.
http://budapestcards.com/
Have a great time in Budapest.
What routes will the free walking tour cover? Anywhere can I find program details? How to book the tour?
How do obtain card if staying at a private address? Can they be purchased at train Station?
Hello Dorothy, if you do not want to buy the Budapest Card with a discount cheapest price, you can buy it at train stations too (Keleti, Nyugati, Deli) at the full price. The card is not sold at the railway station cashier but at the connecting metro station cashier.
